In honor of  “Great Outdoors Month” General RV is accepting nominations to send underprivileged children camping.  President Barack Obama recently declared the month of June “Great Outdoors Month” As part of this declaration, President Obama called for change within our urban communities, and a push for implementing more outdoor recreation based activities for our youth. The President stated that the“sedentary routines” of many American children today are particularly troubling. It is the Obama’s desire that this month, we all do our part to help reconnect the future leaders of tomorrow with the great outdoors.

Millions of Americans Enjoy the RV Lifestyle, and RVing is one of the fastest growing industries in America today. While the economy slowly improves, more families are turning to RVing as a way to vacation with the entire family. However, despite the economy being in the process of recovering, many families and children still do not have the monetary means to take a camping trip.

This is where General RV aims to make a difference by calling upon the RV community. We feel that President Obama’s initiative is admirable, and something that can change the lives of many children and we want to do our part. Therefore, through the end of June we will be looking for families who are RV owners that would be willing to take an underprivileged child or family camping with them. General RV will pay for the expenses of the camping trip, including; a gas allowance, campground fees, and miscellaneous expenses. We will be selecting families in each of the states in which we have stores (Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, and Utah). Some details, regulations, and background checks may apply. See General RV for details. The RV community is extremely family oriented, and we know that together we can make a difference in children’s lives in our communities.
