We love camping and all things outdoors, so it’s no surprise that these handmade S’more Ornaments can be found on our Christmas tree. They’re the perfect reminder of nights spent roasting marshmallows and making memories around a campfire.

These adorable ornaments are easy to make and you only need a few supplies. Follow the instructions below to make your own S’more ornaments! Or, if you’d rather see how it’s done, skip to the bottom of this post and watch our how-to video.

What you’ll need:

  • Burlap
  • Brown felt
  • Cotton balls
  • Twine
  • Brown marker
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Craft supplies to make a S'mores ornament are arranged on a wooden table top. There is a craft glue gun, three brown squares of felt, two white cotton balls, two squares of burlap, a small piece of twine, and a brown marker.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your S’mores ornament.

How to make your own s’more ornament

First, cut the burlap into 3 x 3 inch squares. You don’t need a ruler here – just eyeball it so they are about the size of a graham cracker broken in half. You will need 2 burlap pieces for each ornament.

Add details to your “graham cracker” pieces. Using a brown marker, draw a line down the center of the burlap square. Then add two parallel rows of dots to both sides of the cracker.

Next, cut the brown felt. You’ll want to cut these these a little smaller so they fit inside the burlap square. You will need 3 or 4 pieces of “chocolate” for each ornament.

Start assembling your S’more ornament. Add a dot of glue to the center of the bottom piece of burlap. Be careful – the glue may ooze through the burlap fabric.

Place one brown felt square onto glue. Add another dab of glue and set the second brown felt square on top of the first.

Fluff the cotton balls. You will need 1 or 2 cotton balls for each ornament. Fluffing the cotton gives it a fuller look, like a real marshmallow.

Place the cotton balls in the center of your S’more ornament. Glue in place with a dab of glue.

A dab of hot glue is added to the center of a square of brown felt sitting on top of a piece of burlap. The person assembling the S'mores ornament is holding a fluffed cotton ball in their left hand and a glue gun in their right hand.

Finish assembling your S’more ornament. Glue the remaining “chocolate” felt squares on top of the cotton ball. Then glue the remaining “graham cracker” top over the S’more ornament.

Make your ornament hanger. Cut a piece of twine that’s about 2.5 to 3.5 inches long. Fold the twine in half to make a loop.

Glue a hanger on your S’more ornament. Add a small dab of hot glue to the center of the top of the ornament. Hold twine in place for about 30 seconds or until it is completely hardened.
