
A recent study by Go RVing and the RV Industry Association categorizes RV owners into seven unique groups to better understand the variances between each and the types of RVs they prefer. These segments help shed light on similarities that exist between RVers across their motivations, needs, profiles and attitudes, as well as providing insight into the best RV for each adventure.
The average RVer has undergone major transformations in recent years, with notable increases in younger and more diverse owners compared to the past. They are using their RVs in more diverse ways, as well. According to new research by Go RVing, roughly 15% of current owners have worked remotely in their RV, a majority of which are travel trailers. The RV industry has evolved with them, offering more diversity in options and floor plans than ever before.

Casual Campers

Only using their RV for a few weekends a year in the warmer months, Casual Campers have thoroughly enjoyed the RV lifestyle and its provision of relaxation and an escape in nature for years. Generally older (ages 55+) and retired, this group loves the convenience of having a home away from home while on vacation, but they only use their RVs for about half of their holidays. Travel trailers are the overwhelming favorite type of RV among Casual Campers, with many hoping to upgrade to a fifth wheel or a Class C motorhome.
