TAYLOR, Mich. (WJBK) – In this season of giving, shoppers in Taylor got to see a little girl’s wish come true. You can give the same kind of gift, and it will cost you nothing.

All dressed up for Christmas she looked like a living doll, and in the arms of her mother, it was seven-year-old Destiny’s dream day. A pile of presents and a brand new camper all for her, a wish come true for a child with a brain injury and cerebral palsy.

“She had a four-and-a-half hour seizure when she was nine months old, and it caused brain damage and the blindness,” said Kerry Caruso, Destiny’s mother. “Because of the brain damage, she has sleep apnea really bad, so her chances of not waking up in the morning are very scary.”

However, Caruso told FOX 2’s Robin Schwartz they focus on living each day to the fullest.
